Charan Singh · Principal product designer
12 case studies, 2017–2026 · newest first
Every project names what got cut, and how well each claim can be evidenced.

Lume
2025 · Product design & frontend build
A profile and collaboration platform that turns a creator's scattered proof into one page brands can act on.
The adjustment
Didn't touch the backend, that stayed the client's. Used Claude to build the frontend myself instead of handing it to an engineer, and did the design in Figma solo.

Careerflow
2024 - now · Design consultant, ongoing
An AI-native career platform: a resume builder, job tracker, mock interviews and a salary negotiation agent, unified across four apps under one design system.
The adjustment
A clean-slate design system wasn't realistic across four live apps with hundreds of existing Ant Design modals between them. Consolidated component by component instead of rewriting, trading a fully bespoke system for one every app could actually adopt.

Recovry
2024 · Design lead, 8-month build
An AI post-op platform built to cut opioid dependency. I owned model choice, guardrails, FDA-compliant design and the clinical AI UX, end to end.

StepSetGo
2022 · Contract product designer
A homepage redesign for StepSetGo's walk-to-earn app: cutting through information overload so a busy user could see her fitness progress and reward coins at a glance, then track it without hunting.
The adjustment
Designed for iOS only and dropped wearable sync entirely, because the persona was an iPhone user who could not connect a wearable, and testing the new flow fast mattered more than covering every device.

A research-led brand language for an air-quality company: archetype, voice, type and an accessible colour system.

tl;dv
2021 · Co-lead product designer
A meeting-highlights workspace for tl;dv: turning long recordings into shareable snippets, built alongside a design language the team could scale on.
The adjustment
With only two of us, consistency could not depend on memory, so we spent time on the shared design language instead of more screens. Two of the eight screens I was given never made it into the case study.

ABMDI
2020-2021 · Solo product designer
An in-house platform for the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators: one place to store, manage and share death investigation cases across the US, built from a mood board up through a full design system.
The adjustment
Funding for the platform dried up roughly a year after launch and it never got the reach it deserved. I do not have full visibility into what happened after that, whether it has been picked back up or shelved for good.

Petfinder

Icustommadeit
2017 · Lead product designer
On-demand custom commerce for the Indian market, designed end to end across web and mobile.
Remembered
Before 2017
There is work before 2017 that has no case study here. Agency years, early product work, things I shipped and no longer hold the files for. I am not going to reconstruct them from memory to make this page longer.
An empty row is more honest than a reconstructed one.

Pay10
2017 · Founding team, growth marketing & business strategy
A flat-₹10, 90-minute hyperlocal delivery network for one Delhi neighbourhood, built and run by a three-person founding team two years before Blinkit existed.
Remembered
Same output. Rising cost.
Ten years of work looks steady from outside and gets more expensive inside. The senior move is knowing what to give up to protect the rest, which is why every project above names what got cut rather than only what shipped.
Where a claim is no longer checkable, it says so. Half of any ten-year portfolio is unverifiable, and pretending otherwise is the quiet lie most of them tell.
